Girl Guides

n CVSS, we empower our Guides through fun and challenging programmes to help them discover and develop their strengths, and acquire skills to become responsible citizens of the world. Through these activities, we hope our Guides learn to cope and even thrive with the ever-changing demands of the world.

Through programmes aligned to the Five-Point Programme, our Guides develop leadership and life skills in five key areas: Personal & Social Development, Outdoors, Home, Community and International. Programmes such as the Free Being Me and Action on Body Confidence Workshop allow potential leaders to develop and sharpen their planning, organising, leadership and advocacy skills. They also learn new ideas that will be useful for running fun and meaningful unit activities using the World Wide Association of Girl Guides and Girl Scouts non-formal educational method.

Our girls are given ample opportunities to participate in various competitions and events organised by the Girl Guides Headquarters to enhance their Guiding experience such as World Thinking Day, North Division Day and Patrol Leader’s Training Camp. In the North Division Guiders Outdoor Challenge 2017, our Guides did the school proud and emerged 1st.

In addition, we offer opportunities for our girls to get involved in local communities, equipping them to make a lasting positive impact by helping others. This year, our Guides carried out their annual Service Learning project with the Sree Narayana Mission Home (SNMH) where they planned and executed meaningful activities for the elderly, demonstrating graciousness and empathy in the process.

For our efforts, our Company was awarded the Puan Noor Aisha Gold Award – an affirmation of our hard work and dedication in the various events, initiatives and programmes that we planned and participated in 2017. Through our programmes and activities, we hope our girls develop a deep sense of confidence and self-assurance, along with vital leadership and life skills – through fun adventures and making lifelong friendships.
